Avid Group Publishing Honored To Have Songs On The New Charley Pride Release

Spring Hill, TN  – On July 7, Charley Pride released his first full-length studio album in six years, appropriately titled “Music in My Heart.” The title track and one other song on the album are from the Avid Group Publishing/BMI catalog of John Mathis Jr. and were both written by John’s father, “Country” Johnny Mathis. In a recent interview by Sports and Entertainment Nashville, Pride refers to Mathis as one of his favorite writers as Pride has recorded Mathis songs earlier in his career.

Pride celebrated 50 years of recording and entertainment entertaining in 2016. The release of this new album has seen Pride make appearances on the CBS Evening News with features in AP, Huffington Post, Billboard and more. The CMA Entertainer of the Year has had a remarkable career and the attention is much deserved. He is the recent recipient of the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy.

The Avid Group Publishing catalog holds copyrights placements in Southern Gospel, Bluegrass and Country Music genres as well as in recent documentaries. John Mathis Jr. continues to manage the independent record label, Mansion Entertainment, which has released albums such as the GRAMMY nominated ‘Forever Changed’ by T. Graham Brown.
